We asked Jantzen what he thought it meant to be baptized. He told us that it meant that you make Jesus the leader of your life!! I loved his answer! I love it way better then asking God into your heart, because when you make that decision you are choosing to let Jesus be the leader of your life!!! We talked a little more and he said that he wanted to make that decision. We told him that all you had to do was pray to God and ask for forgiveness and then ask Jesus to be the leader of your life! We also talked about how very important that decision was. That from the second you choose to let Jesus be the leader of your life you are choosing to let God be in control of your life. From that moment on, you are choosing to follow His ways! I have always wanted to be sure that my kids realize that it is not just a one time little prayer and you're done! That it is a life changing moment! That things won't always be easy, but that He promises to ALWAYS be with you and help you and will never leave you! We talked a little more and he wanted to make the decision, but he wanted us to pray it for him. We tried to tell him that it was something he had to do, it was his decision, and that no one could make that decision for him but Jantzen. He started to get a little teary, so we told him that he did not have to make this decision now, that he could think about it and pray about it! We couldn't tell if he was overwhelmed by the decision or if he was scared!! We did not want to make him scared, so we told him how very proud of him we are and that God is so proud of him for wanting to be baptized and for wanting to learn more about Him. We told him that he could come and talk to us at anytime about it. And that when he is ready to make the decision that we are here to talk to him about it! My sweet Jantzen is so sensitive and I truly believe that God was just getting a hold of his little heart and he was overwhelmed with emotion!
Later that night Jaxson was in the room and we told Jaxson to not say anything to Jantz but to just pray for him. So while I was putting the boys to bed, Jaxson leans over and says mom I have to tell you something that's just between you and me! I just prayed that Jantzen would trust in God with all of his heart! He is so sweet and just has the most precious heart! He has always been a little boy of prayer!!!
