Birthday Party for Jesus!

"And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

How awesome it must of been to be there and witness the birth of our Savior!! I can't even imagine! Every year I try to think of ways to let the boys experience Him during the Christmas season. One of the things we do every year is have our own little birthday party for Jesus! This year we decided to invite our friends! We had so much fun playing pin the tail on Joseph and Mary's donkey, bowling in Bethlehem, and We Three Kings Ring Toss!! We made our very special birthday cupcake that has three special layers. Chocolate=sin, red=His blood shed for us, green=for new life in Christ, and white icing because He washed us as white as snow. We put a candle on the top to symbolize that we are His light in this world!! Then we prayed and sang happy birthday to Jesus!!! My favorite part of the night was sweet little Jack who was so distraught and came up to me asking why Jesus wasn't there yet!!! He truly thought that Jesus was going to be there for his birthday party!!! I love the innocence of a child!!!! Everyone brought a gift that we will donate to the children's hospital!! It was a fun night of remembering why we celebrate Christmas!!
