7 DAYS!

In 7 days my first born will be going to his first day of Kindergarten! So many emotions are overcoming me! I am so excited for my Jaxson, because he is so excited to start Kindergarten.  The mommy in me is so sad that my baby will be with someone else for a good part of the day, 7 hours! I know he is going to do great and make so many new friends and learn so much, but I am going to miss him.  I was rocking my baby boy Jett to sleep last night.  As I was rocking him I was just praying over all of my children and especially Jaxson.  I was asking the Lord to watch over him and protect while he is away from me during the day and it hit me.  I am having to place my Jaxson in the Lord's hands completely! Jaaf and I dedicated Jaxson to the Lord when he was born, but Jax has been under my care for the past 5 years 7 months! Jaaf and I have been able to control his environment, we pick what he can and cannot watch on TV, we allow him to do certain activities, but it has all been within our control.  But it hit me that this will be the first time that I am handing him over and trusting someone else to do what is best for him for the majority of the day.  So as I was praying and getting overwhelmed, I realized that every day I am going to have to give Jax over to the Lord and place him in His hands!! Being so type A, that is a little hard for me to let go of any control I might have, but I have to trust my Heavenly Father and know that He is always close beside us.

So all of that being said I wanted to do something special for my boy! So we are doing a fun countdown till school starts. (Thanks for the idea sweet Carrie!)  We have 7 days and I have thought of 7 main things that I have been praying for Jaxson and his first year of school.  At the end of each day we let Jax sit in his special chair and as a family we pray over him what that days prayer is. I am asking that you pray along with me, for your child, grandchild, etc! I believe with all of my heart that Prayer Changes Things, and I can't wait to see how God moves!!

7 More Days-Prayer: Praying for Jaxson to make awesome new friends! We are praying that Jax would make a special friend in his class who would be raised up in the Lord. We are also praying that some of his new friends might even go to Life Church.

6 More Days-Prayer: Praying for Jaxson's Teacher! Praying that she would have extra patience, love, joy, and passion for teaching. We are praying that God would use her this year to give Jax a love for school. Praying that she would make her classroom a safe and encouraging environment.  We are also praying that the Lord would bless her this year!

5 More Days-Prayer: Praying for Jaxson to be brave a courageous! We are asking God to fill Jax with his strength to make it through each day. We are praying that God would constantly remind Jaxson that He is always close beside him. We pra that God would fill Jax with His presence all day!!
