"How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!"
It is one of those verses we use constantly in our home!
Ever since I found out I was having another little boy, (Jantzen), I began to pray that Jaxson and Jantzen would have a special relationship. That they would love each other dearly and that they would just be the best of friends. I pray that they would also keep each other accountable and encourage each other in their walk with the Lord. I figure, their friends will probably come and go, but they will ALWAYS be brothers! How awesome would it be if they were best friends who they could always count on each other for encouragement and wise counsel.
When ever I found out for the third time that I was having another precious little boy, I began to pray that somehow the Lord would intertwine my little Jett in with his older brothers. I pray that they would all have a very special bond with one another.
All of that to say I have been reading this new amazing book, "Praying the scriptures for your children." It has been the most wonderful book I have read in a long time. The preface of the book is that when we pray, we should boldly pray God's word. When we pray the very words that He spoke, then we are praying his will. Example, "Lord help Jaxson, Jantzen, and Jett to live together in unity, just as you have said in your word that it is pleasant!" or "Give Jaxson, Jantzen, and Jett endurance, encouragement, and a spirit of unity as they follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth they may glorify you, precious Lord." Rom 15:5-6
another good one, " Cause Jax, Jantz, and Jett to be devoted to one another in brotherly love, honoring one another above themselves!!! Rom 12:10
"I pray that Jax, Jantz, and Jett will do everything without arguing or complaining." Phil 2:14
I could go on and on. What I have gotten from the book so far is that there is POWER when you pray the very words that God spoke in His word. Also, if we are praying His very words, then we are praying His will. I can pray help my boys to get along, which is just fine, but when I pray from His word, it brings power to my prayer, because the words came straight from my Heavenly Father!
Towards the end of the day today I started to notice how peaceful my home had been all day. There was hardly if any complaining, and instead of hearing my boys nag at each other or get on each others nerves, I heard words of encouragement. Jaxson kept saying, "Great job Jantzen, you are sure good at that game!" and Jantzen, "Thanks Jax!" There were a few more of those precious moments, and then I called Jaaf and told him that we had not had one fight or argument all day with the boys, then I started thinking, what chapter did I read and pray last night. It was the chapter over sibling relationships!! I prayed on my knees scripture after scripture for my boys to be kind and compassionate towards each other. I just love how sometimes the Lord reminds you that He is God and that He is Faithful to hear our prayers! So I encourage you tonight in what ever you are praying for to search His word and pray through it!! And then, watch and see how He answers!!!
This is one of the verses I have been praying every day for so many of my family members and friends!
"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us." Eph 3:20

Love that! I will be requesting that book for Christmas for sure! Thanks for the encouragement and the example you are to pray for our children! It is so important.
