Jaxson's Last Day of School!

So as I think back through this year, I can't help but shed a few tears! This time last year I just found out that Deer Creek was going to FULL DAY Kindergarten! I'll never forget Jaafar telling me the news. I literally cried all day! I couldn't imagine having my baby away from me for 7 hours! Jaaf and I looked at some private schools, but they were either WAY out of our price range, or the Lord just kept closing the door! PRAISE THE LORD that HIS WAYS are so much HIGHER than my ways!! I began to pray for Jaxson's teacher for all the kids that he would be with during the day, for the faculty and staff at the school, and so on! My fear was that Jaxson was so innocent and pure, and I did not want that to change. I did not want him to be exposed to something that could take away that innocence. it was hard for me to realize that Jaxson would be spending more time at school then he would with me. I had to let that go! I prayed that God would put amazing friends who loved the Lord in his class! I prayed for God to provide at least one good friend who loved the Lord and his parents to love the Lord. Boy did the Lord ever answer that prayer! He provide almost a whole classroom full of friends who love the Lord. It just amazed me as I got to know some of the kiddos by working up in Jaxson's class who most of them loved to talk about Jesus to me! Jaxson's teacher, Mrs. Nelson, was amazing this year. At first I had a few reservations about her! She seemed wonderful, but I knew that she didn't have children yet. And as a parent, who used to work with children before I had some of my own, I know how impatient I was with them. Again, God showed me that He knew what was best for Jaxson! Mrs. Nelson has been the biggest blessing this year! She has given Jax a love for learning and has equipped him with so much this year. She has more patience for 20 kids that are not her own then I do for my own 3 kids! She is full of joy and laughter, and made every day fun and new!! Jaxson came home from school everyday saying, "Mom, today was even more awesome then yesterday!" The staff and people I have met at Grove Valley are by far the best and have exceeded all of my expectations! There were so many times that I felt like we were at a private school, because everywhere I looked I saw Jesus! Whether it was the many different artwork that covered the walls of the school, where numerous children wrote and drew about God, or when the principal asked the kids to pray for the families in Hati, or when the Grove Valley website asked all the parents to come together and pray for and help a teacher at Grove Valley as she lost her husband, or by the conversations I heard during lunch time at the school between different teachers and students as they talked about what they learned at church, or by the numerous parents I met who love the Lord!
So as this school years ends, I am overwhelmed by God's goodness and faithfulness to provide above and beyond all of my thousands of prayers I asked throughout the summer last year and through out the whole school year. He did not let one of them go unanswered. God thank you for this school year and for all that You did through it! Thank you God for the amazing people you put in our life and in Jaxson's life! God I am overwhelmed by your goodness! God I love you and pray that next year will somehow be even more amazing then this year! Raise this generation of kiddos up to serve you and love you and bring glory to Your name! God may your prescence be felt all over the school! God we honor You and we love you! Thank you for making this year amazing and one I will never forget!!!!!!
