Christmas Traditions!

I love Christmas! And I love all of the fun Christmas traditions our little family does every year! This year as I was watching the boys make their ornaments, and having movie night in our PJ's, and riding on the Polar Express, I realized that as the boys get older, they are probably not going to want to do some of these traditions they have done since they were 1! It kind of made me a little sad knowing they are growing up and one day soon, they are going to want to hang out with their friends over Christmas break and not their momma!! So I tried to savor every little traditions and moment with them this break! Here are some of our traditions that we do.
We love to make reindeer food! I tell the boys that sometimes the reindeer get left out, and they are a very important part of getting Santa here!
Throwing out reindeer food!
Sweet boy, we were freezing in the blizzard!
We had to use silly string to make a path for the reindeer! It was so snowy we were afraid the reindeer might not see our house!!!
Finished product! Super yummy reindeer food!
Making some super yummy reindeer food!! Had to use extra sprinkles so that the reindeer could see through the snow.

Making our ornaments.
Helping with the Birthday cake for Jesus! Making the cake the color green for New Life in Jesus!
Chocolate for the sin in our life, red for Jesus' blood that was shed for our sin, green for new life, and white icing to symbolize that He washes us as white as snow!
Spreading the candy.
Making some peppermint bark! The boys loved smashing the candy canes.
Making our birthday cake for Jesus!
Crazy boys on the Polar Express!!
Getting ready for the Polar Express!
Two sleepy boys after getting some starbucks and looking at lights.
Our favorite house to look at every year! Each year it gets better and better!
If you could only see how big their eyes were when they looked at the lights.
Some other fun traditions we do are:
We give the boys new PJ's and have a Christmas movie night!
I do the 12 days of Christmas with the boys. They have their own little boxes that have the manger scene on them. Every morning I put a little present in each box and I also put a bible verse that is a Name of Jesus! So we end up learning 12 different Names of Jesus!
This year I did the "Hay in the Manger" we got a little box that was our manger and every time the boys were kind to each other, or did something without asking, they would get to put hay in the box! The goal was to make the manger nice and comfy for Jesus on Christmas morning!! (I should keep it year round!!!)
One of my favorite things that we do, which is kind of like the Hay in the Manger, but I have the boys decorate a gift bag and we put it under the tree, when I see the boys do something kind or helpful I write it down and put it in the bag! I tell the boys that these are our gifts to Jesus! We try to get our bags overflowing for Christmas morning!
