It was so surreal waking up to the beautiful Ethiopian Mountains! I have been waiting for this moment for a year, and now I am finally here!! I was so excited! Today we woke up and went to Church and then visited two orphanages. Worship at the Baptist church was amazing. I loved watching as each person came into the church they knelt and prayed before they stood to worship! They laid it all at His feet and then they were open and ready to worship their king! They submitted to Him first! Us girls sat in the back of the church, instantly little ones flocked to us! We handed out bracelets that my friend and her boys made. They were a big hit! We just sat back and watched as the Ethiopians worshiped. It was just such a sweet picture of Jesus and how someday all different ethnicities will be worshiping as one! After Church we went to a great burger place. It was so good to have an American Burger and some fries! We even got a coke! After a good lunch we visited two orphanages. My heart broke as a looked at a room full of babies that had no mom or dad, but they did have loving nannies. One of the orphanages had a room full of special needs children. It broke my heart to look at these children, most of them were just lying on the floor. One little boy was laying in a crib. He was born with some spinal problem where his head was literally touching his back. He was in the shape of a U. My heart just broke. I went around and hugged and kissed each one of those babies. I prayed for each one of them. After we visited the orphanages and loved on those babies we headed back home, we made a stop by a super nice hotel to exchange our money and then we grabbed some pizza and then we went home to eat and get some sleep for our first day of work.
