Holy Week!

Palm Sunday was the start to Holy Week!! It is a tradition in the Gassid household to observe, re-live, and to meditate on what the Holy Week really is! I want my boys to experience it! Yesterday was Palm Sunday!! I put pictures up to let the boys kind of get a picture of what that day might of looked like! We also got some palm branches and ran around the house shouting, "Hosanna!! Hosanna!!" The boys think it is pretty fun. Then we headed off to church to sing praises to our God! We let the boys sit in with us so that they could sing and worship with us. On the way to Church we were telling the boys the significance of Palm Sunday and how awesome it must of been to see Jesus riding in on a donkey! The donkey symbolized a humble King and it also is said that a King would ride in on a donkey when he was declaring peace! Jesus is often referred to as our Prince of Peace!! Pretty cool!! Anyway, we told the boys, "Lets go and praise Jesus for all that He has done." Jaxson told us, "Jesus knows what we are going to sing before we sing it!" Pretty amazing coming from a 5 year old! He also went on to tell us that he can't wait till Jesus can push him in a swing for forever!! (Jax has always said that if Jesus were to come and visit he would take him to the park and have Jesus push him in the swings!!) The Boys dancing around singing Hosanna!!!
"They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, "Hosanna!" "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" "Blessed is the King of Israel!" Jesus found a young donkey and sat upon it, as it is written, "Do not be afraid, O Daughter of Zion; see, your king is coming, seated on a donkey's colt." John 12:13-15
