Jesus Cleans the Temple

"When they arrived back in Jerusalem, Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out the people buying and selling animals for sacrifices. He knocked over the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those selling doves, and he stopped everyone from using the Temple as a marketplace. He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer for all nations,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves.”
Mark 11:15-17
Today is the day that Jesus cleaned out the mess that was in His Father's house! I can't even begin to imagine what Jesus must have felt when He saw the destruction that was going on in the sacred and holy temple!!
Today I wanted to try and explain it to the boys!!! I made up a little story to see if maybe it could relate just a tiny bit to what Jesus must of been feeling. I told Jax and Jantz, "What if one day while you were at school one of the neighbors came over and played with every single toy you had, colored all over you walls, broke some of your toys, and just left your room and your house in a complete mess??" How would it make you feel?? Both boys said it would make them very sad and mad! I went on to tell them, that is exactly how Jesus felt. The people had NO respect for the house of the Lord! They had no recognition that they were standing on holy ground! That this was not a place of disrespect, but a place where you come to meet God!
After that the boys and I got our painting shirts on and we painted some crosses and we colored some Easter Eggs! I told the boys to get as messy as they wanted!! Jantzen went jumped right on in and started spreading all the paint on his hands, which went all over his legs, then face, and so on. Jax was a little more reserved until we started to paint the eggs! Lets just say that they were COVERED with paint and egg dye!!!! I had them look at each other and see the mess they were. I told them that this is what the temple must of looked like! Then I carried my two sweet boys straight to the bath! We had to scrub like we have never scrubbed before! I had to use hand soap, bath soap, and even dish wash soap to get these boys clean! The bathtub water was purple by the time they got out! I said, "look how clean you are!!! That is why Jesus came! Sometimes the bad things in our lives make us look yucky and messy, but Jesus came to clean us and make us whole! Just like he cleaned out the temple!!!"
Here are some very messy pics!!!!
Being careful!
Still not messy!

Thinking about it!

Diving in!

Getting there!

100% Messy!

Jaxson and his messy hands! My squeaky clean boys!!!!
